Tips

🫁 Coherence Breathing

Allow for slow, rhythmic breathing at your chosen pace. I personally like 8 seconds. The long breath out in particular activates the parasympathetic nervous system, but the rhythmic speed has a great soothing effect on the mind and heart rate variability.

Pro tip: Put both of your hands over your heart for best effect — gently, not forcefully. When your mind wanders or feels bored, bring up a memory when you felt truly grateful: a moment with a loved one, a beautiful moment while exercising, being in nature. Don't use this to push away uncomfortable feelings or thoughts. Simply return to that grateful memory whenever you notice you've drifted.

šŸ‘ļø EMDR Eye Movement

Bilateral stimulation (following the dot) helps process stress, helps mind feel safe, predictable, rhythmic and helps to allow and open to the actual emotional happenings.

Pro tip: Test different modes. Some people at some times prefer different modes.

🌊 Rhythm & Allowing

The combined rhythm of breath and movement creates a meditative state. Ideal to allow thoughts, feelings, sensations to pass without engagement.

Pro tip: Give up controlling how you feel for the session, just open to it fully. The goal is not to rest or relax — the goal is to open to your personal experience, stay compassionate and soothe. To regulate your nervous system effectively, practice being okay with being uncomfortable. It is safe and temporary, not something to avoid.

šŸ“ˆ Trading Application

Use before sessions to center yourself, during breaks to reset after losses or wins, or post-session or at the end of the day to process session or the day as a whole. A regulated nervous system makes better decisions and is one of the key edges for peak trading performance.
